Despite the disagreements in Springfield, Governor Rauner has signed the Caregiver Advise, Record, and Enable Act, also known as the CARE Act. The act applies to caregivers and patients of ALL ages.
The CARE act recognizes the important role that Illinois' 1.5 million family caregivers play in the well-being of their loved ones. It has three important provisions:
The CARE Act becomes effective on January 27, 2016. Illinois joins 15 states which have already enacted the provision.
